At ASI, we are looking for a Technical Lead / Development Manager with extensive experience in software development. ASI is a leading web development/consulting firm in the US with a development center in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. Over the last 20 years, we have specialized in automating business processes by developing desktop applications and building web browser-based solutions. We provide custom applications that deliver key solutions to our customers. Position Description This exciting position is ideal for an enthusiastic Senior Technical professional. The Technical Lead / Development Manager is responsible for leading an existing team of developers, working towards delivering reliable software and hardware solutions, writing impeccable code and delivering projects on time and budget. The Technical Lead / Delivery Manager also acts as a Project Manager, taking ownership of assigned development projects from inception to delivery. He/she is expected to lead a team, with the ability to multitask, teach and instruct coworkers, attend meetings with external clients as required to ensure client’s needs are met and successfully deliver all assigned projects. Responsibilities: • Responsible to lead developers in one or more scrum teams for product release(s) • Responsible for estimating development estimates for releases and commitments • Contributes to release planning, system architecture and system design • Responsible to ensure development best practices are followed during the build phase • Actively coach developers in the team to progressively become better developers • Provide daily training and progressive discipline direction for direct reports, as required. Seek advice and counsel on the how to approach in providing this type of coaching and progressive discipline as needed • Makes sure that development team meets the SLA for Software development and maintenance requests/support escalations • Contributes to ongoing process improvement for better development productivity and quality • Perform annual performance appraisals, Quarterly stack ranking and employee development plans as needed • Creates and contributes to excellent developer culture • Contributes and drives key Engineering-wide initiatives through the team. • Lead Development recruitments as well as in company recruitments as needed • Recommend job promotions, transfers and work actively on retention of developers • Reviews the developers work and develops features if required. • Reviews detailed functional specifications developed by System Analysis team. • Architects software whenever required. • Drives continuous improvement in productivity and quality of team output. • Undertake any other assignments for which the company’s management may request your participation from time to time. Skills: Required Technical skills • 6+ concurrent years as a Team Lead / Team Manager for a group of C# ASP .NET developers • Expert level skills in ASP .NET 3.5, 4.0 using C#. • Strong skills in SQL database development. • Deep knowledge of C#, ASP.NET, JavaScript, Transact-SQL • Experience developing Web-based applications and desktop applications. • SQL Server Reporting Service(SSRS) • SQL Server Integration Service(SSIS) • College degree.
